               Taste Concerns

*************************************************************************************************************************

On August 25, 2010, HWEA detected a slightly “earthy” taste to our drinking water.  This problem is the result of the hot, dry conditions our area has experienced for the last month or so.   HWEA immediately adjusted our water treatment process yesterday afternoon to respond to this concern and this morning the drinking water leaving the Moss Water Treatment Plant had no detectable taste.  However, it will take about 18-24 hours to correct the taste throughout the HWEA system.   We would appreciate your patience in this matter.  All Federal and State drinking water standards are being consistently met by HWEA.   We continually strive to provide our customers with the finest drinking water and we are committed to resolving this issue as soon as possible.
